- I know you’re a Democrat, but do the right thing. Additional closure...s will have a drastic effect on the physical and mental health of everyone. Suicides will increase and their deaths will be on your hands and anyone else’s hands who continues to support these draconian measures. We have the right to make our own choices. It’s a virus, you cannot stop it. There’s the approved treatment in the hospitals, Remdesivir. Focus on it. I’ve recovered from it as have over 97% of those who have had it. Stop taking away our liberties and our rights to live life!!! Prove to us you’re better than the dictator in charge. See More

Rep. Galonski statement following record-shattering day of COVID-19 cases in Ohio
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D-Akron) issued a statement Thursday following the news that Ohio reported 3,590 new COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, yet another new record. This marks the first time Ohio has seen an increase of over 3,000 new cases in a 24 hour period. The previous daily record was set on Saturday, with 2,858 new cases that day.
Today also marks the 140th day Ohio has been without a state health director following the June 11th resignation of Dr. Amy Acton.
“Ohioans have to take matters into their own hands now. I implore people to treat the virus as an enemy to your family and fight to keep them safe. Please stay home if you can afford to. Help your neighbor if they need help. If you must go out, please wear a mask and stay socially distant and wash your hands frequently. Remember, Ohioans are fighters and we are also resourceful when the chips are down. We must do everything we know how to do to stay safe,” said Rep. Galonski.
During the press conference, Governor DeWine charged local leaders to develop a “COVID-19 Defense Team” to determine the best path forward for their individual communities. House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) tweeted her criticism of that plan, stating that a “county-by-county, city-by-city plan is no substitute for a statewide COVID-19 response.”
